Some Realtors sell houses. Buddy Bradbury helps people find home.
Born in West Phoenix, raised on the spirit of O'ahu — Buddy's family made the journey from Hawaiʻi to Arizona in 1968, when she was just four years old. Her mother, a graceful Hula dancer from O'ahu, brought the warmth of Aloha with her everywhere she went — including into her thriving career as a beloved Sun City Realtor. Watching her Mom sell homes with patience, passion and a permanent smile planted a seed in Buddy that would take decades to fully bloom. Those decades were anything but ordinary.
Buddy served for nearly ten years as a volunteer firefighter paramedic in Sedona — learning to stay calm when everything around her was chaos, to listen carefully when words were hard to find, and to show up completely for people in their most vulnerable moments. Skills that translate, it turns out, perfectly to real estate. Then came Maui. Fifteen magical years on the island she loves — dancing Hula under the guidance of the gifted Kumu Jan Kealani Kitaguchi, deepening her soul's connection to Hawaiian culture. Being chosen by beloved Kumu and musician Wilmont Kaumanu Kahaiali'i to serve as his Hawaiian language assistant at Sacred Hearts School in Lāhainā. Performing Hula at malls, restaurants and retirement homes across Lāhainā and Kaʻanapali — carrying her mother's dance forward, keeping the culture alive. And then, on August 8, 2023, the fire came.
The Lāhainā fire took Buddy's home. Her livelihood. A dozen beloved friends. The town she loved. But in the Hawaiʻi she knows — the real Hawaiʻi, the one that lives in the heart — Aloha is not something that burns. It is something you carry. So Buddy carried it home to Scottsdale.
She came back to be near her 95 year old father-in-law, to reunite with her son, to build something lasting alongside her wife of 35 years, Eve. She came back with ten years of work ahead of her and a lifetime of purpose behind her. She came back to do what her mother always did — help people find where they belong.
Today, Buddy Bradbury is a proud Realtor with The Brokery in North Scottsdale. She works with everyone — senior citizens navigating a new chapter, first time buyers stepping into their dream, families planting roots in this extraordinary desert community. She knows these trails, these neighborhoods, these sunsets. She knows the lifestyle that makes North Scottsdale unlike anywhere else on earth.
And she knows — from the deepest possible place — exactly what it means to come home.
